Hilliard Arts Council presents Talking With (March 5 – 7)

12:00 pm - 10:00 pm Virtual Theater Production
Admission Cost: $10 per device

Hilliard Arts Council is proud to bring another virtual production to our viewing public. Talking With is a series of women’s monologues tackling many different aspects of the complex female psyche. The play, a 1982 winner of the American Theatre Critics award for best regional play, introduces us to 10 fascinating women.  The first scene introduces us to a veteran actor “making up her face” and preparing to take the stage in an unnamed play. Then there’s a defiant rodeo star bemoaning the commercialization and commodification of her passion and a baton-twirling prodigy who lost her competition chances to injury. Another character is  a presumably homeless woman delivers an ode to McDonald’s where “nothing bad ever happens,” telling the story of how a fantastic series of coincidences saved a man from cerebral palsy and showing how any place that treats people with respect can become a holy community place.  The play introduces us to a total of 10 fascinating female characters the provide the audience with food for thought, humor and pathos.  Target audience: PG-13
