Destination Hilliard’s priority is to encourage economic vibrancy throughout the City of Hilliard through the development and promotion of special events, attractions, culture, history, recreation, parks, dining, retail, meeting and event space use, and overnight accommodations.
Destination Hilliard is committed to providing financial support to develop initiatives that will bring visitors into our community to infuse money into our local economy, to promote overnight stays in hotels within Hilliard City limits, to expand awareness of this community as a visitor destination, and to encourage Hilliard residents to take advantage of the tourism-industry amenities this community has to offer.Destination Hilliard will dedicate up to a total of $50,000 in hotel/motel bed tax funding to sponsor new community events, attractions, and initiatives and to elevate returning events in 2024.Individual sponsorships may not exceed 50% of the event's costs and will be based on the criteria outlined at https://destinationhilliard.org/sponsorship/.
Sponsorship Selection Process
Step 1 – Sponsorship Request Form – The applicant must submit the application here. Step 2 – Destination Hilliard will review Sponsorship Request Forms up to three times per year (or until funds have been dispersed) to select which events/activities/projects will be sponsored. Step 3 –Sponsorship recipients will be notified based on the following schedule:
- Request forms completed by February 1, 2025 with be notified by March 1, 2025.
- Request forms completed by April 1, 2025 will be notified by May 1, 2025.
- Request forms completed by June 1, 2025 will be notified by July 1, 2025.
Step 4 – Recipients must invoice Destination Hilliard Board for the agreed upon sponsorship (including detailed benefits of sponsorship) within 30 days of receiving the email notification from Destination Hilliard. Step 5 – The sponsorship recipient must submit a completed W-9 form or non-profit agency tax form. Step 6 – Destination Hilliard will settle the invoice. Questions or concerns?
