Hilliard can expect a big new addition coming to the city in mid-2025! The Well, a 105,000 square-foot recreation and wellness center, began construction last year and promises many new fitness and social opportunities.

For sports and fitness lovers, the campus will include a gymnasium, a fitness and weight room, studios for aerobics and dance, an aquatic facility with a lap pool, recreation activity pool, and even a water slide. The campus will be home to a total of 22 athletic fields, 20 of which are grass and 2 of which are synthetic turf.

Other inclusions range from a spa, a 240-person community events room, a set of classrooms, a commercial kitchen, a child watch area, and an outdoor patio. Around 25,000 square feet of The Well’s space will be allocated to an integrated medical health and wellness center in collaboration with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Also new to the area will be a new Norwich Township Fire Department building, a restoration of the Clover Groff Run Stream, and green stormwater management solutions.

Hilliard residents allowed for the construction of The Well to begin in 2021 after approving ballot initiative Issue 22. The center is among the largest developments in Hilliard’s history and hopes to attract both current and future Hilliard residents to the area. When The Well opens, it will be located at Cosgray and Scioto Darby Roads after an expansion of Cosgray.
