On a hot summer day in July of 1945, Alice Handel began serving ice cream in Youngstown, Ohio. With the finest ingredients, she made her ice cream one batch at a time using personal recipes and fresh fruit from her garden.
Today, over 70 years later, Handel’s in Hilliard upholds the traditions Alice started all those years ago. From making each batch fresh daily to using her original methods and recipes, they are still sharing their signature homemade ice cream and serving the community one scoop at a time.
